So I went out for dinner with a bunch of friends from work. We went to Spice Thai, my parents' restaurant and had a few beers with dinner. Then afterwards I wanted to take them all over to see my new townhouse I just bought because it's only a few minutes away and I'm all excited about it.
So we get there, and I'm giving them the royal tour, taking them from room to room etc. And I take them into my bedroom where there's a sliding glass door that leads to a private patio. So I go to open the sliding glass door and I'm like "And here! Look at the great view!"...and I walked right smack! into the screen door.
Classic. I'll never live this one down. But it's ok cuz it cracks me up too.
Posted by at February 11, 2003 09:13 PMThat's so terrible, but also so beautiful. One of the first times I ever got drunk, when I was 16, I somehow managed to walk directly into a door. Not even a screen door, mind you, but a solid wooden door. I had to make up a weak story about being kicked in the face at swim practice to cover up for my drunken klutzery and swollen nose.
On the more positive side, it is so sweet that you have a townhouse.
Posted by: sean on February 12, 2003 12:26 AMooh ouch! that had to hurt...
but yeah, i'm excited about my townhouse! mostly because it represents a bit of freedom and independence and it'll be nice to be on my own. it's actually a lot less expensive than you'd think, but i do still need to rent out the 2nd bedroom to help cover mortgage payments.
Oh poor Jade. You didn't hurt yourself too much did you?
Yea townhouse. I can't wait to see it. When should I plan to come down for a house party?
Posted by: Nuala on February 12, 2003 08:37 AMi've never run into a door. walls yes. door no. and for no good drunken reason either. i just ran into them. very sad.
Posted by: michele on February 12, 2003 08:51 AMi was talking to sumit about it a couple days ago. i'm probably gonna have one next sat, the 22, with family and coworkers and such, but since it's difficult for you guys to come down, if you can't make it that weekend, you and sumit (and anyone else up there for that matter!) are more than welcome to come down any weekend that's convenient.
...and my parents' restaurant is just around the corner so there's always nummy thai food and thai ice teas...
Well I'm coming down that weekend for my interview. I dunno if Sumit wants to drive down that day, but technically we can. I'll ask him.
Posted by: Nuala on February 12, 2003 11:07 AMAnd it's a go! It looks like Sumit and I will come to bother you and see the new home after I get out of my interview....stupid interview. Just to warn you, Sumit will inevitably demand Thai food.
